FOOTBALL | Kyabram 15.13 – 103 v Mansfield 4.7 – 31
It was always going to be a difficult task for us on the weekend with 8 players unavailable for selection. The young group we played were extremely competitive in the first half. However, as the game progressed, the Kyabram bigger bodies proved to be too much to contain.
There were a lot of learnings to come out of the game including the speed and precision of their ball movement versus our ball movement. Their ability to control possession showed us why they have been the team to beat of the last few years.
Despite the result there were a lot of positives to come out of the game.

Despite the result, there was a lot of positives to come out of the game including the continued development of our younger players.
The bye has come at a very welcome time for us with the next block of games being extremely critical to the outcome of our season.

NETBALL | Kyabram 26 v Mansfield 33
Kyabram in Kyabram, has always been a daunting thought for Mansfield. But this year we made sure we came into the game knowing we have an opportunity to genuinely show the league what we are made of.
Kyabram recruited well in the off season and we knew coming into the game their defensive end would be our biggest challenge. Our focus going into the game was to implement our attacking structures and not let their defensive zone control us.

…this year we made sure we came into the game knowing we have an opportunity to genuinely show the league what we are made of.
After a slow second quarter, we were able to take our game to the next level, in attack we worked hard to create space which enabled one on one contests in the ring. We were able to get back in front and slowly built a strong and composed lead from the effort and hard worked we put in.
It was an incredible 4 quarter effort by our girls and an important win to place us back in the top 6. With a week off and back into a tough game against Shepparton Swans, we will focus in on working off our opponents body in attack with a lot of teams putting out a zone defence, and defensively we need to work on our talk/full court defensive set up.
