FOOTBALL | Mansfield 23.18 – 156 v Shepparton Swans 8.9 – 57
Great 4 quarter effort by us on the weekend. The game was a little but scrappy early but we were able to get on top as the game progressed.
Our midfield were all really impressive with a complete domination in the clearance numbers.
Great 4 quarter effort by us on the weekend.

This weekend will be a great test for us against Tatura who we will likely be battling with for a finals berth.

NETBALL | Mansfield 29 v Shepparton Swans 51
Our senior team faced off against the in form Shepparton Swans who were currently sitting in the Top 2 on the ladder. This was a result of a 5 winning streak. Our performance against Kyabram in Rd 6 was the type of netball we would needed to produce to compete against top sides.

With every player available for this weeks game, we were hoping to utilize our rotations and get fresh legs on court each quarter. A slow start to the game cost us on the scoreboard. We managed to redeem ourselves with a quality second quarter. This wasn’t enough and unfortunately the Shepparton Swans were able to control the second half and eventually produce a convincing win.
As a group, we struggled to step up to their level. We allowed our opponents to dictate how we played the game.
Captain Darcy Croxford Demasi was a standout, playing an incredible game from the centre. Her presence provided composure and dominance for the full 4 quarters. The next month will be challenging over the next 4 rounds, playing 3 teams in the top 6. Our preparation and focus in the week leading up to these games will be important if we want to compete in Finals.
