FOOTBALL | Tatura 19.8 – 122 v Mansfield 9.4 – 58
After scoring the first 3 goals of the game, we were unable to continue the momentum. Upon reflection, it was our inability to find an answer to their midfield dominance. Stifling their running game was probably the difference between the two sides at the end of the game.
On the weekend their ability to win the contested ball and spread from the stoppage was far better than ours. This allowed them to control territory and eventually dominate the inside 50 count.
It just goes to show, even if your opposition knows your system, it’s very difficult to counteract it if you do it well enough.Andrew Browne – Senior Football Coach
The most disappointing thing is that we knew exactly how they wanted to play going into the game yet we were unable to contain it. It just goes to show even if your opposition knows your system, it is very difficult to counteract if you do it well enough.
This weekend is another vital game vs Shepparton at home. We aren’t for off the pace of the top sides in the competition. A good performance this weekend will allow to keep the pressure on them.

NETBALL | Tatura 24 v Mansfield 36
Playing any team away from home always brings with it a notion that any team can win, Tatura was no exception. The Tatura supporters are always strong and vocal in their support. Their team also always come out hard.
From the very first centre pass, I knew it would be a very defensive game. Both in the rings and down the full court. Coming into the 2nd quarter only 2 goals up, our focus was to play composed Netball. This meant, work and faith in our structures. If we stuck to this we would be able to run out the game and come home victorious.
A very even middle half saw Madeline Smith step to a new level. She was linking fluently with the mid courters and gave our attacking end every chance possible to work through some tough defenders.
It was going to take nothing short of a full 4 quarter effort to get over the line. Tatura was desperate for a win. I was very proud of our performance in the last quarter. We convincingly ran over the top of this strong and fighting team. Our incredible talent and determination we as a team possess really did shine through. We can really make our mark in this league if we put our minds to it..

It was going to take nothing short of a full 4 quarter effort from our girls to get over the line against a team desperate for a win.
Next week against Shepparton Bears at home will be crucial for us. Everyone is encouraged to come along and support this amazing Netball team.
A huge shout out must go to our supporters on the weekend, but most influential our Reserves boys. They came over from the footy oval to support us and provided the extra fire and fight to surpass the loud Tatura supporters. Huge thanks to Fatty and the boys!
