The Easter Golf Ball Drop 2021 was a great success at the Mansfield Football Netball Club

The sun was shining for the Annual Easter Golf Ball Drop. Thousands of onlookers came to watch the Round 1 clash between Mansfield and Mooroopna. Many Footy and Netball fans came to witness the  Easter Golf Ball Drop spectacle and possibly win a new car!

The Easter Golf Ball Drop is now an annual event the town and surrounding districts love to attend. It was a magnificent day. Thousands turned up to witness some great Footy and Netball being played. Hundreds of golf balls were dropped from a helicopter into a golf hole strategically placed on the oval and marked with a flag.

Winner KIA Picanto

On the day the major prize, a new KIA Picanto valued at $18,900 was won by Joe Owens. Joe was just looking forward to watching some local footy and enjoying the day in Mansfield, he ended up driving away from the Eagles Nest in a brand new car!

“I’m absolutely wrapt. I never expected to be driving away in a new car. The local footy season opener is always great!”

Amongst the 5000+ crowd, Joe, was the talk of the town. There was great atmosphere as excited supporters and fans in attendance enjoyed the rest of the day in the beautiful autumn weather customary in the Mansfield and District surrounds at this time of the year.

President Ray Robinson absolutely loved the season opener festivities at Mansfield Recreation Reserve.

“What a great way to start the season! Our fantastic Committee, volunteers, Coaches and Players put in a great amount effort during the summer to get to this point. The teams are looking great, the venue is a great multi-sport facility for the town and to add unique events such as the Easter Golf Ball Drop 2021 create a great sense of community in the town. We’re all looking forward to a great season ahead.”

The Mansfield Eagles are looking forward to their Round 2 clash away next week at Tatura who will be looking to open up their 2021 account after a 37 point loss in their season opener.
