The Easter Saturday Ball Drop for 2019 was another huge success. A massive crowd arrived at Mansfield Recreation Reserve to witness some great Football and Netball as the Mighty Eagles teams took on Euroa.
It was a beautiful day with the sun shining and perfect weather for the Annual Easter Ball Drop. For the uninitiated, a helicopter flies in and hovers over the oval at halftime of the Seniors football match. 1500 Golf Balls are then dropped form the helicopter in the vicinity of a golf hole and flag strategically placed in front of the main grand stand.
Supporters from both sides loved the spectacle and drama of this unique fundraising event for the club. The kids enjoy the spectacle and the opportunity to run out on the ground and quickly clean up all the left over Golf Balls.
Vice President, Belinda De Maria was thrilled with the result. “Not only was it a great day and beautiful weather, we had a record number of tickets sold. This is a great fundraiser for the Football Netball Club. As a committee we are trying hard to make our Game Day experience the best in the league and events such as this add that little bit of fun to your game day experience. It’s also great when our boys and girls beat the opposition too…!”.
Eventual winner Jarrod Mahoney was wrapt with the result, the first prize of a $10,000 travel voucher, Courtesy of Alliance Group and fulfilled by Marconi Travel. Congratulations…
