Newly appointed Mansfield Football Club Coach Andrew Browne is enthusiastic about the prospect of the upcoming 2019 GVFL Football Season. After being recruited from Essendon District Football League powerhouse Keilor Football Club, Browne has enjoyed returning to his home town.
“It’s been great to spend more time back in Mansfield. Renew old friendships and making new ones”. Browne seems content so far as he fits his coaching duties with his work as an Enginneer in Melbourne.
Browne knows what success looks like. He spent time with AFL Club Richmond and tasting Premiership Glory in 2016 with A-Grade team Keilor.
The young coach is enthusiastic about the upcoming season. “I can’t wait to get into games so we can showcase a style of footy that I believe will be competitive with any team in the Goulburn Valley.”
Over the weekend was another step forward for the Mansfield Football Netball Club. They held their Football Netball Club camp at Recreation Reserve and throughout the town.

“At this stage of the pre-season I am very happy with where we are at. Having a new coach that has come from a completely different environment is difficult for the players to adjust to. It means reprogramming themselves to think the way that I want them to think. Act the way that I want them to act. I’ve been very impressed with the attitude of the entire group with regards to this.”
If the quality of training is anything to go by, it seems 2019 will be promising for the Eagles. Andrew Browne will provide updates throughout the season from the Eagles Nest.
